What Is a Time Tournament Tournament?
A time tournament runs for a stated duration. At the end, surviving stacks are used to distribute prizes under the event formula.
Understand the format ↓How does Time Tournament work?
Players compete through the scheduled period. The tournament stops at the time limit and remaining chip counts determine the listed payouts.
Prizes and payouts
In PokerStars' published Time Tourneys, remaining players receive a distribution based on ending chip count. Other venues may specify another formula.
This is a tournament structure, not a poker game. The event can use Hold'em, Omaha, or another published game. Always read that event's rules and prize schedule.
A practical example.
A 60-minute event stops with four players still holding chips. Their awards follow the event's end-of-time chip-share rules.
What should you verify?
Read the exact duration, late registration policy, how eliminated players are treated, and the end-of-time award calculation.
Operator and venue rules control the exact entry, blind, bounty, payout, and cancellation terms. Poker TDA's tournament procedures cover a different layer of tournament play.
